When I was in middle school I was mulling over the options of what to get my dad for Christmas. After wandering several shops, nothing really stuck out to me. We all have those people that just seem impossible to shop for. After a lot of consideration I finally decided to make a donation in his name. I chose an organization that donated animals to communities in need around the world.
I remember that gift, specifically, because unlike any other gift I had given before, my dad kept talking about it. He shared the present with his friends, hung the certificate about the gift up at work. For years he talked about that special gift. So why not swap your normal tins of popcorn, Christmas Socks and mugs for a gift that can help to change our world, through charitable gifting!
I’ve written here before about how much “junk” most of the developed world seems to have, tips about being more environmentally conscious and ways that we can give back to our local communities. This year more than ever, I hope you will consider exchanging traditional gift giving for gifts of charity in honor of your loved ones. Times have been challenging for all, in 2020, but the world’s most vulnerable need our support more than ever.

If you are looking for a great charity to donate to, I have an option for you. Together, with the BWA, I have created a holiday gift catalogue! I have personally worked with all of the charities and seen how far every penny you donate will go to help poor communities in the Philippines.
The BWA is a fully volunteer run organization, so unlike larger charities, there is no operational costs. All of your donations will go directly to helping those in need.
